Industry Veteran Mark Massop joined DataWalk in 2019 as VP of North American sales, and we caught up with him recently to get his thoughts about the company.
You’ve been at DataWalk over a year now. How’s it going?
Mark Massop: It’s going great! Great people, a great product, and customers who love what we’re doing.
So what does DataWalk do?
Mark Massop: DataWalk provides a multi-user, Enterprise-class software platform for integrating data across many internal and external data sources, and then enabling both analysts and non-technical users to easily access, analyze and share both data and work product.
What are your key solution areas?
Mark Massop: Our key use cases include intelligence analysis, investigations, fraud detection, and infectious disease management; in law enforcement, intelligence, regulatory agencies, insurance, and other sectors.
Who are your competitors?
Mark Massop: Our key competitors are IBM and Palantir. DataWalk provides a great upgrade path for IBM i2 customers, and is a great alternative to Palantir Gotham.
How is DataWalk better and different than those products?
Mark Massop: Relative to Palantir Gotham, we provide comparable functionality at a fraction of the price. Relative to IBM i2, we provide a fully integrated Enterprise platform based on modern technology, as compared to a stack of older disparate products that are bolted together. We’re far lower price than a comparable IBM i2 solution, and we also work very closely with our customers to help ensure their success.
What are your distribution channels?
Mark Massop: We sell direct, and we also sell with/through partners in specific sectors and geographies. Channel partners are an important part of our strategy and we’ve been excited at the capabilities that our partners bring to the table.
Thanks Mark!
Mark Massop: Thank you!
