DataWalk, an innovative software company focused on transforming how enterprises and public-sector organizations manage and analyze data, today announced the appointment of industry luminary Chris Westphal as Chief Analytics Officer.
Westphal was previously Co-Founder and CEO of Visual Analytics, which provided a platform for identifying complex data patterns to identify and analyze frauds, crimes, and other anomalies. Chris guided the organization through its development and growth before the company was acquired by Raytheon in 2013. He then served as a VP of Analytics at Raytheon for three years.
“Based on my experience I see a significant need for an open, scalable, extensible software platform for connecting and analyzing a large number of data sets,” said Westphal. “Today’s product alternatives require extensive services and huge, unpredictable annual costs. I believe DataWalk is ideally positioned to fundamentally change the economics of scalable data analytics.”
“Chris has over 25 years of experience solving some of the industry’s most demanding data analysis problems,” said Gabe Gotthard, DataWalk CEO. “He’s an ideal addition to lead our team in enabling customers in law enforcement, intelligence organizations, financial institutions, and other sectors to solve more difficult problems, more quickly, and at a much lower cost.”
Chris is a frequent speaker at industry events, and is author of multiple books including “Data Mining for Intelligence, Fraud & Criminal Detection: Advanced Analytics & Information Sharing Technologies.”
