Product Owner at DataWalk takes the lead on setting-up and transforming the roadmap from Product Management to a level of detail necessary for product development teams. Product Owner plans the development, tracks and reports progress and risks.
This is a crucial role in the organisation. Roadmap decisions are made by Product Marketing and the Product Owner is a participant in the decision making process. It requires excellent communication and leadership skills as the roadmap is set up based on multiple inputs (Product Management, CTO, Delivery, Sales, Development Team) and factors (contract deadlines, technical dependencies, legal requirements etc.). Product Owner needs to stay on top of deadlines and requirements.
Ideal candidate is self-driven, cooperative, responsible with a can-do attitude. Speaks her/his mind and gets-things-done!
Duties and responsibilities:
- Manage the roadmap development process
- Coordinate feature workflow and progress
- Convey the vision, the strategy and the direction from Product Management to the development team
- Is a product expert
- Gather, validate, document and manage detailed requirements for every feature, present requirements to the development team
- Define MVPs and possible delivery phases
- Shape the features in a generic way (applicable to more than one use-case)
- Organize process-related activities (refinements, estimation sessions, demos)
- Recommend/introduce process improvements
Requirements:
- 5+ years experience in a highly transparent Agile organization, with iterations, continuous integration and a drive for speed of delivery
- Have experience in either Product Owner or Business/Requirements Analyst role
- Have skills necessary for understanding and analysis of requirements for a complex business software system
- Have experience in developing and maintaining requirements in agile projects.
- Experience with Scrum/Kanban
- Must be a self-starter and able to work well with others in a fast-paced agile environment with an emphasis on collaborating and assisting the team to meet business objectives
- Possess strong problem solving and decision making skills while using good judgment
- Interested in understanding business context, such as company strategy or application of the technology she/he creates.
- Accepts trade-off, be able to propose solutions with consideration of technical and business constraints
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present and articulate complex business and software requirements in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
- Good listening and negotiation skills – can find compromises and tradeoffs to maximize delivered value across all stakeholders
- Be creative, strategic, analytical, and think outside the box to solve problems
- Proficiency in English
