Head of Communications (AI & Graph Analytics)

Location: EU-based | Work model: remote & travelling (approximately up to 20 % travel required for this role).

DataWalk is a high-tech software product company that brings the next level of technology to the world through a patent-based hybrid graph analytical platform. Our system is used by US Departments, Intelligence Agencies, and top Fortune 500 companies to combat money laundering, fraud, human trafficking, terrorism, and organized crime. We are looking for a Head of Communications to design and lead DataWalk's public relations and strategic communications. Initially, this is a Europe-focused role - that is where our priority lies today. Over time, the role has the potential to grow into a broader remit covering the US and Canada as well as the function and the company scale.

This is an individual contributor role with full strategic ownership. You will first build the communications framework from the ground up - strategy, narratives, agency network, executive enablement playbook - and then, based on traction and impact, have the opportunity to scale and build a team around you. We are looking for someone who is excited by both phases: rolling up their sleeves to architect the function, and later evolving into a people leader.

You will build DataWalk's visibility and narrative across two strategic segments:

  1. Commercial B2B: Financial crime, banking, and enterprise risk.
  2. Public Sector B2G: Law enforcement, intelligence, and defense.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Communications & Positioning

  • Business-Driven PR: Define and execute a PR strategy that aligns directly with Go-To-Market priorities across our commercial and public sector segments.
  • Narrative Development: Architect consistent product narratives that translate complex AI and graph analytics into clear, value-driven business messaging.
  • Content Leadership: Own end-to-end strategy - target audiences, key messaging, channels, and distribution.
  • Public Affairs Support: Provide strategic counsel on Public Affairs opportunities as they arise.

Media & Analyst Relations

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with top-tier business, technology, and vertical-specific media (Finance, Security, Defense, Data).
  • Oversee the production of press releases, executive interviews, bylined articles, case studies, and thought leadership.
  • Drive analyst and influencer visibility in close collaboration with Product Marketing and the executive leadership team.

Agency & Executive Management

  • Select, onboard, and lead regional PR agencies, ensuring they exceed rigorous KPIs and deliver high-caliber results.
  • Coach and prepare senior leadership for high-stakes media engagements, keynote presentations, and strategic events.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in strategic public relations and corporate communications, ideally with significant time in-house at a B2B technology vendor. Strong agency professionals with deep tech-vendor account leadership will also be considered.
  • Strategic mindset: proven ability to align PR activities with business objectives and positioning - not just managing tactical processes.
  • Commercial B2B expertise in technology, SaaS, cybersecurity, fintech, risk, compliance, or adjacent enterprise software categories. Familiarity with public sector / defense / intelligence communications is a strong plus, not a requirement - we will support the right person in building this fluency.
  • Technical fluency: ability to translate complex technology (AI, analytics, graph) into compelling narratives that resonate with business leaders.
  • Geographic reach: experience operating in European markets.
  • Language: full professional proficiency in written and spoken English.

We offer:

  • Direct impact on the global expansion of a fast-growing investigative analytics company with global ambitions.
  • A senior leadership mandate with strategic ownership of the communications function, direct access to the executive team, and a path to scale into a team-building role - with the potential to grow into a global remit covering North America as the function matures.
  • Competitive compensation and a RSU program - a real stake in what we are building together.
  • Remote, flexible work environment with a high-trust, low-bureaucracy culture.
  • A challenging and inspiring environment built around a mission that matters.
